The E-1 Visa is a U.S. visa category designed for traders from countries that have a trade treaty with the United States. This visa allows individuals to enter the U.S. to conduct substantial trade of goods and services between the U.S. and their home country.
The E-1 Visa is intended for those who wish to import and export goods and services between the U.S. and their country of origin. Trade elements can include, but are not limited to:
 

• Goods: Tangible products such as manufactured items, raw materials, agricultural products, consumer goods, industrial equipment, electronics, textiles, and food.
   

• Services: Exchange of services in areas such as consulting, financial services, marketing, international banking, insurance, transportation, tourism, data processing, advertising, accounting, and design.
   

Who can apply?
 

Individuals who can apply for the E-1 Visa must:

• Be citizens of a country that has a trade treaty with the United States.

• Engage in substantial and continuous trade of goods or services between the U.S. and their home country.

• Hold a key role in the company, whether as owners, executives, supervisors, or essential skilled employees.
   

Requirements to apply
 

1. Nationality of a treaty country: The applicant must be a citizen of a country that has a trade treaty with the United States.
    

2. Substantial trade: There must be a continuous and significant flow of international trade in goods or services.
    

3. Principal trade between the U.S. and the treaty country: More than 50% of the company’s international trade must be between the U.S. and the applicant's country.
    

4. Executive or specialized position: The applicant must perform a leadership role or have essential skills for the operation of the company.
    

5. Intent to return to the country of origin: Upon completing their commercial activities, the applicant must demonstrate an intention to return to their home country.
