Trump government revoked temporary permits for migrants who entered the U.S. using the CBP One app.

The Trump administration revoked the temporary permits of thousands of migrants who entered the U.S. using the CBP One app. Learn what this means, who it affects, and what you can do if you received a removal order.

CBP One was a cornerstone of the Biden administration’s strategy to create and expand legal pathways to enter the United States in an attempt to discourage illegal border crossings.

Thousands of migrants who legally entered the United States with appointments scheduled through the CBP One app have begun receiving emails from the government with a strong warning: “It is time for you to leave the United States.”

These permits, known as “humanitarian parole” or temporary permission to remain, were a measure by the Joe Biden administration to allow the legal and orderly entry of people seeking protection or a better life.

But now, under President Trump’s administration, that status has been revoked.

This permit, called “humanitarian parole” in English, is a legal tool that allows people to enter the United States for urgent humanitarian reasons.

The individuals who entered with CBP One received this permit for two years, along with authorization to work.

According to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the cancellation of these permits:

  • Is part of a “kept promise” by President Trump to close the border.

  • Seeks to stop what they consider a migration crisis fueled by Biden’s policy.

  • Aims to strengthen national security.

People who used CBP One are now being urged to leave the country voluntarily, using the same app, now called CBP Home.

More than 900,000 people entered the U.S. with appointments requested through the CBP One app since January 2023.

Cancellation emails have been sent to people from Honduras, El Salvador, Mexico, and other Latin American countries.

Another temporary permit used by 532,000 people from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela is also being canceled, valid until April 24.

¿What should you do if you received this notice?

Do not ignore the message. Failure to take action can lead to legal consequences, such as a forced deportation order.

Consult an immigration attorney.

If you decide to leave voluntarily, use the same CBP One app to schedule your departure and avoid future penalties.

Do not rely on rumors. Only official information from the Department of Homeland Security is valid.

The Trump administration also announced the end of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for:

  • 600,000 Venezuelans

  • 500,000 Haitians

However, a federal judge has put that decision on hold, so it is not yet in effect.

For many, TPS could end at any moment, affecting hundreds of thousands of families.

The current situation can cause fear and confusion, but getting informed is the first step to protect yourself.

If you or someone you know received a notice from the government, act immediately.

Consult official sources or reliable legal help.

Avoid falling for scams or rumors on social media.

Although these decisions affect many, there are still legal options and paths to protection, especially if you seek professional help.
